Building Description:
The Comedy Theatre is thought to be the oldest intact live theatre in Melbourne.
The façade features tapestry brickwork and wrought iron balconettes. It also has Spanish Mission style stucco dressings including attached columns and arches. The decorative panel above the service entrance to the theatre is impressive, but the building as a whole is not quite as spectacular as some of the other historic theatres in Melbourne.
