Building Description:
The Camberwell Town Hall was for many years the administrative centre of the former City of Camberwell (now City of Boroondara). Constructed in 1891, it is a local landmark. Built in the Free Classical style, the building also has a Second Empire influence, most notible in the impressive clock tower which is capped with a truncated pyramid roof.
A cornice separates the two levels of this buildings, and for such an important civic icon of its era, decoration is relatively restrained in this design.
