Until its closure in 1999, the Carlton Movie House was a popular venue for the exhibition of arthouse films.
The Carlton Move House neon sign is of the vertical fin type, approximately 4 metres long with "THE CARLTON" spelled out in unprotected neon letters. The exact age of the sign is uncertain.
The building has been converted into retail space, but the sign has been retained. The sign is no longer operational.
