The highly animated Astor Theatre neon sign dates from 1936. The Astor Theatre neon is a 'blade' sign, the most common form to survive from the neon era.
Surrounding the large ASTOR sign is a series of neon stars in a vertical line down the façade of the building. The sign and stars are both original features of this theatre and were restored by Claude Neon in the late 1980's.
The Astor Theatre neon sign is regularly illuminated at night.
The sign is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register.
