Apex Belting
268-280 Geelong Rd, West Footscray, 3012.
The Apex Belting sign was erected for the conveyer-belt company in 1942, and for a while was Melbourne's oldest continuously operating neon sky sign.
The sign consists of a large blue panel with the words "APEX BELTING" spelled out in neon; "Apex" being in red and "Belting" in green. Surrounding the sign is a series of clear incandescent "chaser" bulbs.
Apex-Fenner paid for a full restoration of the sign in early 2002 but in recent times the chaser lights have not illuminated and upon the last inspection, the sign was not illuminated at all.
