Building Description:
The former Stock Exchange building is a landmark in Collins Street, and neighbours the equally impressive ANZ Gothic Bank.
The façade features recessed gothic arches with gargoyles and impressive carved stonework. The ironwork on the entrance is also quite spectacular (shown below). Each level of the building has been given separate treatment, but all levels feature groupings of narrow Gothic-shaped windows, typical of the work of William Pitt and also seen on The Olderfleet and Rialto buildings.
The building now serves as the ANZ Banking Museum.
