The Regent Theatre is one of the most spectacular theatres in Melbourne. The Regent was closed for many years and fell into a state of disrepair until it was restored in the 1990's. This spectacular animated neon sign is stylistically similar to the original, but with changes to the colour and some of the detailing. The current sign was erected in 1996, whilst the original was erected circa 1947.
